Online store in Morocco: WhatsApp ordering and cash on delivery done right

Online shopping in Morocco has its own habits. Many customers want to ask a question on WhatsApp before buying and prefer to pay cash when the parcel arrives. A store designed around these habits sells more than a copy of a European template. Here's the approach I used on stores like OZYL, UNYSEEL, and Hilali.
Make WhatsApp part of the buying journey
Instead of a lonely WhatsApp icon in a corner, let customers send their order straight to WhatsApp with the product, size, and quantity already written. They get a human answer, and you get a structured order instead of a vague "price?" message.
Offer cash on delivery clearly
If you accept cash on delivery, say it on the product page and in the cart, not only at the last step. Ask for the essentials — name, phone, city, address — with a short form that works well on a phone.
Design product pages for the phone first
Large, sharp photos, the price in Moroccan dirhams, available sizes or variants, and a visible order button within the first screen. Most of your customers will decide on a small screen, often coming from Instagram.
Be clear about delivery
Show delivery cities, timing, and fees before checkout. Uncertainty about delivery is one of the main reasons people abandon a cart.
Show that you are real
Customer reviews, photos of your physical shop if you have one, a phone number, social links, and clear return conditions all reassure a first-time buyer.
Keep it fast and searchable
Optimized images, clean product URLs, and product structured data help your pages load quickly and appear in Google — in French and Arabic if your customers search in both.
A store that respects how your customers like to buy will convert better than a generic one. If you'd like a store like this, tell me about your products.
